National Cancer survivors day was June 2nd. The American Cancer Society is projecting that 1.66 million new cases of cancer will be diagnosed in 2013. However, the 5 year survival rate has increased starting with the time of diagnosis from less than 50% in the late 1970’s to 67% now. Early detection is a key to survival and recovery rates.
