Colorado Physicians and Loveland Family Medicine are urging parents and their children to get a whooping-cough vaccination. Whooping cough is at epidemic levels in Colorado and can be fatal to infants. All the doses necessary to protect infants against pertussis are not all administered until they are over 1-year-old so that leaves them vulnerable to the disease. It’s vitally important that those who care for infants and are around infants get immunized! Also those who are at the age of 11 and 12 should also get a booster even if they had the set of boosters as an infant.
