Obesity is on the rise in America and this extra weight really takes a significant toll on our health. It increases the risks in many ways such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke, many types of cancer, sleep apnea and other debilitating and chronic illnesses.  There are some weight-control strategies that can help you.  Follow a low calorie, low fat diet and:

•Keep track of food intake.

•Count calories, carbs or fat grams

•Have about an hour a day of  physical activity

•Eat breakfast daily and including whole grains and low-fat dairy products

•Eat fast food to less than once a week

•Eat similar healthy foods often

•Watch fewer than 10 hours of TV a week

•Weigh yourself at least once a week
