The flu can spread to others by droplets made when a person with the flu coughs, sneezes or talks.  The droplets land in noses or mouths of others around them.  Sometimes you might also get the flu from an infected person by touching a surface or object that has been contaminated and then you touch your mouth, eyes or nose.  You can even pass the flu onto someone before you even feel sick.  It is possible to infect others 1 day before you have any symptoms and up to 5 to 7 days after you are sick.  Make sure to get you and other family members a flu vaccination from your Loveland Family Medicine doctor or participating pharmacy.
